The electricity supply in Dormaa Ahenkro has experienced a series of power fluctuations over the past two weeks, causing significant disruptions to businesses in Dormaa Ahenkro and its surrounding communities.

In response to these challenges, some business owners have expressed frustration with the leadership of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) and VRA, holding them responsible for the inconsistencies in fulfilling their mandate.

Several residents who rely on electricity for their businesses have reported continuous damage to their electrical gadgets due to the recent power fluctuations, highlighting the financial losses they have incurred in their operations.

In addressing the concerns raised by the affected individuals, Mr. Eric Ofori, the Bono regional Engineer of VRA/NEDCo, explained that the power supply faced challenges approximately two years ago, resulting in a complete breakdown of some machines in the control room at the Berekum substation.

As a temporary measure, the electricity connection for Dormaa Ahenkro was redirected to the Mim substation.

Mr. Ofori reassured the public that the underlying problem has now been resolved, and efforts are underway to reconnect Dormaa Ahenkro to the Berekum Substation.

Consequently, he assured residents that issues of power fluctuations in Dormaa Ahenkro and its environs will soon be addressed and resolved.
