The first indigenous bank in Ghana, Cal Bank, has opened it’s thirty sixth (36th) Branch at Ho, the Volta regional capital.
The new branch was a promise made to the people of Volta by the Managing director of the Bank during a handing over ceremony of a newly completed JHS block and a well furnished computer laboratory to the Hodzove Community in the Ho Municipality last year.
According to the Managing Director of CalBank, Mr. Philip Owureku, opening a new branch in Ho will contribute to the strategic responsibility and a goal of expanding its delivery channels and presence for people in this part of the country.
At the launch on Wednesday July 20, 2022 the Branch Manager of the Bank, Mr. John Meteku, assured the people of Ho and the region at large that Cal Bank shall bring a convenient banking solution to residents in the region.
He believed CalBank establishment in the region has come to deliver on the yearning for authentic customer service experience.
He stressed that, the establishment of an ultramodern banking facility in Ho forms part of the CalBank’s strategy of providing convenient retail banking services to Ghanaians.
“The Bank has made this strategic move to enhance our visibility and impact the lives of people in the Volta region through its operations by offering superior tailored solutions to our cherish customers” He stated.
Mr. John Meteku however proposed further expansion of the same bank to reach other parts of the Volta region to support more businesses.
“Apart from Ho there are other sister towns like Hohoe, Aflao, Sogakope which are good places to do profitable banking business in the Volta region so I therefore entreat management in considering opening a branch in these towns in the near future.” Branch Manager
Mr. Meteku acknowledged the offer given them as staff of CalBank and pledged to take up the challenges and deliver to exceed the expectations of management.
He disclosed that, “Customers’ response to the bank in these few days in the region have been very phenomenal and humbling therefore he is very confident people of the Volta region will continue to patronize the bank and make it their number one stop shop banking services and solution.”
Togbe Adase V the Asafofia of Asorgli and a representative from the Asorgli state at the inauguration expressed his gratitude to the management of CalBank for the extention.
According to him, it was a request made to cal bank by Togbe Afede XIV the Agbogbomefia of Asorgli to consider opening the facility which management has paid heed to.
He believed that, situating CalBank in Ho will bring a lot of transformations in the right direction to the people of Ho.
He added that it will create employment avenue to the enabling youth in the Municipality and the region and will also enhance small scale businesses, farming and other sectors in the area.
Togbe Adase V called on other companies to also emulate the steps of CalBank by extending to Ho and the region at large for more developments.
Mr. Peter Fordjor, Group Head Consumer and Retail Banking said, CalBank has opened five branches in which Ho is among.
He noted that, the move formed part of their plans of expanding the reach of the bank to ensure world class service to all Ghanaians.
He said, they are very excited to bringing world-class customer service to Ho and promised the bank’s commitment to support the various segment in the banking service including individuals, SMEs, cooperatives, and Government business in the region.
