In a series of intelligence-led operations, the Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested twelve (12) suspects connected to various robberies in the region.

According to Police source, three (3) of the suspects have been linked to the murder of the Kusasi chief at Asawase, Kumasi.
“The suspects are Abdalah Alhassan, Jemini Usman (Babamu), Aminu Iddrisu (0244), Illiasu Dauda, Majeed Issaka Jibril, Gafaru Ibrahim, Mohammed Mumuni alias Mama, Tanko Malik alias Bronze, Mohammed Bawa alias Mallam, Dramani Musah, Suleman Yasir Arafat alias Obasanjo, and Ashaidu Sumbieda alias Eyeshadow”

Suspects Jamil Usman alias Babamu or Guru; Suleman Yasir Arafat alias Obasanjo, and Ashaidu Sumbieda alias Eyeshadow, have been linked to the murder of the Kusasi chief at Asawase, Kumasi.
A Toyota Corolla vehicle with registration number GC-439-21, believed to have been used by the suspects, has been retrieved.

However, two (2) other suspects, Illiasu Bawa and David Aheto, sustained gunshot injuries during the operation and were later pronounced dead.
Other exhibits recovered during the operation include two (2) AK-47 assault rifles, one (1) pump-action gun, two (2) pistols, forty-four (44) rounds of 32 ammunition, and twenty-four (24) rounds of 9 mm ammunition.

They noted that, other suspect, Illiasu alias Abodam, remains at large, and efforts are underway to arrest him and bring him to justice
