Hon. Daniel Yao Agbezudor, an aspiring Deputy Constituency Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ho Central Constituency, has secured the number one position on the ballot ahead of the party’s upcoming regional elections.

With only days remaining before the polls, Mr Agbezudor and his campaign team are calling on party delegates to support his candidature, citing his contributions to the party, members and his commitment to strengthening its structures in the Constituency, Volta Region and beyond.

Team Agbezudor campaign said his record of service and continued involvement in party activities make him a suitable candidate for the position.

Leadership experience and public service

Mr Agbezudor has held several positions in political advocacy, education and institutional administration.

He served as secretary to the Volta Youth Against the Sale of Volta Lands, an initiative focused on concerns surrounding the sale of lands in the region. He also served as secretary to lecturers in the Volta Region campaigning for John Dramani Mahama during the 2024 general elections.

Beyond his political involvement, Mr Agbezudor is the Executive Secretary of Educational Workers Connect and an Assistant Registrar at the E.P. College of Education, Amedzofe.

His administrative experience also includes serving as secretary to the planning committees for the 75th and 80th anniversary celebrations of Amedzofe College of Education, popularly known as AMECO.

His campaign team believes these roles have provided him with experience in coordination, communication, stakeholder engagement and organisational management which he intends to bring to the position of Deputy Constituency Secretary.

Support for party members

A key aspect of Mr Agbezudor’s campaign is his reported support for NDC members seeking educational and employment opportunities.

According to his team, he has assisted party members in securing admission opportunities to secondary and tertiary institutions, obtaining national service postings and accessing employment opportunities.

The campaign said these interventions reflect his commitment to supporting party members beyond political activities and helping to improve their personal and professional prospects.

Team Agbezudor has urged delegates and party faithful to consider candidates’ records of service, organisational experience and commitment to the welfare of members when making their choices.

Pledges unity and stronger party structures

In outlining his reasons for contesting, Mr Agbezudor said his ambition was driven by a desire to uphold the ideals of the NDC and contribute to building a stronger party at the constituency level.

He intends to draw on his professional experience, organisational skills and commitment to service to support the constituency leadership.

He has also pledged to work closely with constituency executives, branch executives, party cadres and supporters to promote unity, strengthen internal collaboration and improve the party’s grassroots organisation.

Emphasising his leadership philosophy, Mr Agbezudor cited leadership author John C. Maxwell, who said: “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”

He has appealed to delegates and party members for their prayers and support as the party prepares for the elections, expressing confidence that unity and collective effort will help strengthen the NDC’s organisational structures.

The upcoming internal elections form part of the NDC’s efforts to select party officers and reinforce its grassroots structures ahead of future political activities.
