The Assemblies of God Cooperative Credit Union in Techiman has held its Annual General Meeting with a call on members and the general public to cultivate a strong savings culture to improve their financial security.
Speaking at the meeting held at the Full Gospel Assemblies of God Church in Techiman, Dr. Alfred Ohenenana Appiah, Chairman of the Brong Ahafo Chapter of Cooperative Credit Unions and National First Vice Chairman of the Cooperative Credit Union Association, urged members to honour their loan repayment obligations to ensure the financial stability and sustainability of the institution.
He cautioned members against loan defaults, stressing that timely repayment was essential to enable the credit union to continue providing financial support to members and expand its operations.
Dr. Appiah also encouraged members to increase their shareholdings in the credit union, explaining that stronger member participation through increased shares would improve the institution’s financial base and enhance its capacity to serve members.
The Patron of the Assemblies of God Cooperative Credit Union and Pastor of Full Gospel Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Akantara Anasco Abraham, commended the management and staff for their commitment to the growth and development of the institution.
He urged members to continue supporting the credit union and take advantage of its financial services to improve their livelihoods.
The newly elected Board Chairman of the credit union, Mr. David Ngruba Dworbor, pledged to work closely with his team to strengthen the institution, improve its operations and enhance its image.
He assured members of the board’s commitment to promoting sound management and ensuring that the credit union remains responsive to their financial needs.
The Annual General Meeting brought together members, management, board members and other stakeholders to review the credit union’s activities and chart the way forward for its continued growth.
