Community Focus Foundation Ghana (CFF-Ghana), with support from the Cocoa Marketing Company (CMC), has commissioned a mechanized borehole facility at Dodome-Dogblome in the Ho West District of the Volta Region.

The project is expected to provide reliable potable water to residents and improve their quality of life.

The event, which took place on Saturday, May 23 2026, brought together key stakeholders, including the Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu; Managing Director of the Cocoa Marketing Company, Dr. Wisdom Dogbey, the District Chief Executive of Ho West District Assembly, Hon. Francis Profer Dusey, traditional authorities and other community leaders.

CFF-Gh. however, described the intervention as significant for Dodome-Dogblome, a cocoa-growing community that has long faced challenges in accessing clean water. The new facility is designed to serve households with safe drinking water year-round.

The support extended by CMC to CFF-Ghana was commended as a demonstration of the strategic importance both institutions attach to the wellbeing of cocoa-growing communities. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving access to clean water in rural areas.

It was emphasised that the project goes beyond pipes and pumps. It addresses health, dignity, time, and opportunity for residents. By reducing waterborne diseases and cutting the time spent on water collection, the facility is expected to improve school attendance for children and create more time for women to engage in productive work.

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. James Gunu, commended CFF-Ghana for undertaking the project. He noted that such initiatives complement the government’s efforts to expand access to safe drinking water, particularly in rural communities across the region.

The partnership was also hailed by the minister as an example of the impact that can be achieved when institutions and communities work together toward a common goal. Residents were urged to see the project as a shared responsibility that supports broader development objectives in Ho West.

The people of Dodome-Dogblome were encouraged to take ownership of the facility and ensure its proper maintenance so that future generations can continue to benefit.

Officials expressed hope that the model of collaboration would be replicated in other communities facing similar water challenges.
