Ghana’s 2024 general election is perceived by many as the second opportunity for freedom and independence for the transformation of Ghana, while others believe that the current state of the worsening economy and other pressing issues does not befit the nation.
In response, opposition parties, along with the sentiments of many suffering Ghanaians, have expressed their concerns with unbelievable comments and states of shock and surprise from the public.
These developments have thrown intellectuals into a state of dilemma regarding the current rising challenges in Ghana, even as the country celebrated its 67th independence anniversary amidst controversies surrounding the LGBTQ+ bill.
Concerning these perceived worrying developments, the Ho Central NDC parliamentary candidate, Hon. Richmond Edem Kofi Kpotosu, has called on the Ho Central Constituency and the country at large to take necessary action by voting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) out of power to bring happiness back to the country.
Speaking as a guest at the Stop Over Food Market cooking competition held in Ho on March 6, 2024, which marked Ghana’s 67th independence day celebration, the Volta Region’s Human Resource Manager at Ghana Education Directorate urged the participants and the people of Ho to vote wisely in the December 7 Presidential and Parliamentary polls to restore the country to its normal state of joy among its citizens.
“Next year, before we meet here again, we should be happier than this, so the next general election is the second Freedom of Ghana. Let us do well by voting wisely,” Hon. Kpotosu said.
The Stop Over Food Market’s cooking competition featured entrepreneurs and artisans in the Volta Regional Capital as part of Ghana’s 67th independence anniversary.
Participants included the Ghana Hair Dresser and Beauticians Association (GHABA), Ghana National Tailors and Dress Makers Association (GNTDA), Can Do Owners and Riders Union, and Ho FM.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive for Ho, Hon. Divine Richard Bosson, who also serves as the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Ho, pleaded with the people of Ho to vote for him to become the next Member of Parliament for Ho.
He emphasized the need for a change in the narrative, citing his achievements as MCE as a yardstick and a reason why the NPP can excel when the people of Ho Central change their voting patterns this time around.
