The Assembly member of Akoefe electoral area, Hon. Joshua Buatsi, has charged students across the country to pay much attention to their studies to help shape their academic performances.
Addressing the gathering during this year’s independence anniversary, Mr Buatsi observed that Akoefe has seen much expansion, and schools cannot be excluded from that development.
He commended the progress in education in the area, attributing it to the overwhelming support from parents, teachers, and other stakeholders.
Hon. Buatsi mentioned that Akoefe boasts three public primary basic schools in the Akoefe Traditional Area, located in Akoefe Tokor, Avenui, and Achati.
He applauded the contributions of individuals, governments, the entire Akoefe community, and the various past and present heads in the infrastructure development of all schools in the Traditional Area, including the chiefs of the various communities.
Hon. Joshua Buatsi, emphasizing the theme “Education, the foundation to development,” reminded children in school to devote as much energy to their academic work as they do to rehearsals for the march-past, as this guarantees easier academic achievements.
Impressed by the excellent march-past performance displayed by the students, the assembly member appealed to the Ghana Armed Forces Training Center Commander at Akoefe to create spaces for the youth in their annual recruitments, considering they are on their land as a form of compensation.
Togbe Drake Tsigbe, the Paramount Chief of the Akoefe Traditional Area and the chairman of the 67th Independence parade event, commended the efforts of the Ghana Armed Forces in their relationship with the community as neighbours.
However, he charged the community to continue dedicating themselves to community development, paying attention to the outcomes of the March 6 celebrations.
