The President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyeman Badu II, the Dormahene, has remarked that traditional leaders don’t just speak for talking sake but for national development.
He said as traditional leaders they will continue speaking for the betterment of the nation for all.
He said this at the grand durbar of the 2023 Asogli State Yam Festival (Te Za) and the 20th anniversary of enthronement of Togbe Afede XIV on the theme: “20 years of Selfless and Inspiring leadership” last Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Ho Jubilee Park.
The Dormahene, who was the Special of Guest Honour at this year’s Asogli State Yam Festival said despite the political party or candidates Ghanaians would vote for in the 2024 General Elections, traditional leaders will continue to speak.
“Let us talk about the present situations, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, has about 15 months to go, if you think he is the only one at the receiving end, we have to rewrite our books. In 2024, if you decide to bring either the Veep, Dr. Bawumia or the showdown man, my good friend, Kennedy Agyapong or any of the two aspirants or my good friend from the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Akua Donkor, let them bring them and you will see the way we will react” he said.
He continued to say “Togbe we are not doing this for the sake of our mouth, we are not doing this for selfish gains, we are doing this for Mother Ghana. I want to assure; I don’t know whether Ghanaians will give the mandate to the All-People’s Congress (APC) because he is here. Should Ghanaians give the mandate to the APC of Dr. Hassan Ayariga, we will continue to guide him, give him constructive criticisms so that together we position Ghana.
