UPDATE: Alleged ECG “In-comer” thief dead

Information reaching ignewss has indicated that the 32-year-old man suspected to be attempting to steal ECG – GRIDCO’s in-comer (cable) that supplies the Bulk Power Supply (BPS) at Aflao in the Ketu South Municipality has has passed on.

The suspect who was identified as Eric Kofi Quaye was said to be half Ghanaian and half Togolese and a resident of Aflao died while receiving treatment at the Aflao Government Hospital.

According to sources shared by the Volta Regional Public Relation Officer of the Electricity Company of Ghana Mr. Benjamin Antwi has it that, the incidence happened on Wednesday, April 13 in the morning at around 5:20am.

He indicated that, the incident happened along the Diamond street of Aflao in the Ketu South District of the Volta region.

He further mentioned that the current frequent Power outage being experienced is as a result of tampering with the incomer.
