Peki Paramount Chief warns political activist during EPCG 175th anniversary celebration

The paramount Chief of Peki traditional area in the Volta region, Deiga Kodzo Dei XII, has cautioned various political parties in the area to conduct their activities in a manner that will not distort the peaceful 175th anniversary celebration of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Ghana (EPCG).

Deiga Kodzo Dei XII who is the chairman of the occasion made this known when addressing the 175th anniversary grand durbar of the church at Peki Blengo.

Togbe said, he will hold any party and its activist responsible should their activities in anyway disrupt the anniversary celebration.

Meanwhile Deiga Kodzo Dei commended the president of the republic, H. E. Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo, for completing the Eastern corridor road and other important projects in the area.

He further touted the President’s flagship projects adding that, his district has also benefited from the Free Senior High School which Togbe acknowledged has made a great impact of enhancing education in the area.

He also applauded the President for the agenda 111 project which the South Dayi district has its share situated at Kpeve.

He however called on the government to also grant the Peki community with one Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) institution to enable other student who could not get admission into the already existing Senior High Schools (SHS) in the community due to unavailability of space.

The Paramount Chief congratulated the past leadership of the church for their efforts and achievements.

He encouraged the current leadership of the church not to ever allow themselves to get complacent in the chase for the attainment of the Mission and vision of the church with their parochial and self-interest seeking.

Deiga entreated the church to sustain the already existing relationship with the custodians of the land to enhance equal development.

“I encourage you to be mindful of maintaining full engagement with us, the traditional rulers, and our subjects in the promotion of the work of the church”. He added.
