One person arrested in Yendi over election related disturbance

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of one suspect and on a manhunt for others in Yendi for electoral related offences.

The suspect was alleged to have been causing damage to electoral materials during the sorting of ballots in the just ended internal parliamentary elections of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Police source disclosed that, they worked together with the Military, in line with their established protocols, to restore law, order and security in the area.

They noted that, no persons were injured during the disturbances.

They further assured the general public that all persons behind the unfortunate act shall be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
