The mortal remains of the late Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krachi East in the Oti region, Francis Kofi Okesu, will be laid to rest on Saturday, November 12, 2022.
Ahead of his final burial rite, the family spokesperson, Mr John Yao Banyanase, has disclosed that, the family has received the police medical and pathologist report regarding the cause of his death which will be announced by the family heads after his burial.
Before his demise, Francis Kofi Okesu was the MCE for the Krachi East municipality and the dean of MMDCEs in the Oti region.
He died on an official duty in the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi.
Leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) described the sudden death of the MCDE as a surprise and a heavy blow to the party and the Krachi East municipality.
During his one-week celebration, Mr Dan Botwoe who represented the president said, Okesu was a very vibrant and hardworking MCE who won the heart of many.
As the family prepares to welcome his mortal remains on November 11 and 12, 2022 for final funeral rite, Mr John Yao Benyanase said, even though the family has taken delivery of the official police medical report, it will be announced by the heads of the family.
According to him, there are some media houses that published false stories about the death of their son and have refused to apologise to the family after many calls by the Oti reginal security council and the Okesu family.
He said such media houses including Myjoyonline, Graphics online and Joy news are not welcome to the funeral for coverage.
Mr John Yao Benyanase noted that, the family cannot guarantee their safety hence they should stay away.
Meanwhile, a vigil would be held for the 42-year-old MCE on Friday, November 11, at Lapaz Park in Dambai, the regional capital follow by internment at Dambai cemetery on November 12.
The head of the family is expected to disclose the final medical report to the general public on Monday, November, 14, 2022.
