A renown Ghanaian business mogul and a brother to former president John Dramani Mahama, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has pledged to support the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EPCG) 175th anniversary monument.
According to a Member of Parliament for Akatsi North Hon. Peter Nortsu-Kotoe, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has promised to donate a total of one thousand (1,000.00) bags of his Dzata cement to the church for the construction of the conference center which will be delivered from Tema as soon as the project starts.
The donation came after the moderator of the General Assembly of the church, Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Bliss Divine Kofi Agbeko (RTD) disclosed that the church is set to build an ultra-modern conference center to support youth and personnel development in the church during the climax of the church’s 175th anniversary celebration at the Jubilee Park in the Volta regional capital, Ho.
Former President John Dramani Mahama together with the Volta National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament and the party also donated an amount of twenty-five thousand Ghana cedis (GHc25,000.00) to support the project.
Meanwhile the Moderator in his sermons appealed to the over two hundred and fifty members of the church to at least support the project with Ghc10.00 each to enable the church raise fund for the project.
Sister churches including Eglise Evangelique Presbyterienne du Togo (E.E.P.T), the Presbyterian Church of Ghana and the Global Evangelical Church were among entities who made huge sums of cash donations to support the project.
The day’s service raised a total of Ghc162,608.86 as proceeds from the thanksgiving service to commence the projects.
