EPCG climaxes 175th Anniversary

The Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EPCG) has climaxed their 175th anniversary celebration this weekend at the Volta regional capital, Ho.

Delivery the day’s sermon during the thanksgiving service held at the Jubilee Park, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the church Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Bliss Divine Kofi Agbeko (RTD) urged Christians to exhibit righteousness in all their endeavours.

He charged them to be very consistent in righteousness and called on leaders to be very righteous in their leadership discourse.

Speaking on the day’s sermon “Press on to the end”, he urged Christians to exert the needed effort to lead and guide to the end no matter the challenges.

“If there is anything that shepherds, apostles Evangelists, Prophets, Pastors, Teachers should desire to be and to practice, it must be righteousness”. He stressed

He further warned Christians not to engage or hide behind Christianity to commit fraudulent and act of corruption against others.

“Be famous for righteousness. Be hated, loved, named for righteousness. Don’t be a fraudster or use the name of Jesus and God to rob people. Don’t be a thief in the house of God and don’t practice corruption of any form.” He stressed.

The guest of Honor of the celebration, former President John Dramani Mahama who graced the occasion applauded the hard works of the church.

He however touted the humble beginning of the church and the tremendous achievements aside the spiritual empowerment they bring to many citizens across the country.

“I’ll say that the EP church fell on fertile ground and that is why like the parable of the mustard seed. Today the church has grown into a very mighty tree, and it’s one of the leading denominations of Christianity in Ghana.” Former President stated.

He further called on the church to continue its support to the National Democratic Congress with prayers as they strive to retain the governance sit in 2025.

The Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church (GEC), Right Rev. Prosper Samuel Dzomeku also in his fraternal greeting, pledged on behalf of the GEC to collaborate with the EP church to press on as contained in the sermons by the Moderator of the General Assembly of the EPCG.

  1. So great full and proud of my church.Indeed the leadership has done a great job.l pray that our two years celebration in Pakistan EPCP next year June will go the same way as Ghana Amen.
