Former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party leadership, led by the National Chairman, Hon. Aseidu Nketiah and the Minority Caucus, have presented a donation worth Ghc1.5 million to flood victims across 11 districts in the Volta region.
The donation is expected to provide much-needed relief to those affected by recent devastating floods from the Akosombo dam spillage.
The comprehensive list of items donated includes 2000 bags of rice, 500 boxes of cooking oil, 500 boxes of tin fish, 500 boxes of tin tomatoes, 1000 packets of water, assorted drinks among others.
The contribution is aimed at assisting the families who have been grappling with the aftermath of the floods, offering essential sustenance and support during these trying times.
The ceremony in Sogakope witnessed an outpouring of support from local residents, well-wishers and members of the National Democratic Congress.
Former President Mahama emphasized the importance of unity and compassion during moments of crisis.
He expressed his solidarity with the flood victims and assured them of continued support from the NDC.
