The Director General in-charge of administration at the Ghana Police Service, COP/Mr. Ken Yeboah has called on all police recruits across the country to oblige and comply with the very laws they are trained to enforce when they step out of their training schools.

Addressing the recruits during their passing out parade held in the Volta Regional Police Training School-Ho, Mr. Yeboah, the Reviewing Officer, charged the personnel to conduct themselves in the appearance and deportment in such a manner as to inspire confidence and respect for them as individuals and for the Police service in general.

He said, all Recruits should always remember that, the calling as a Police Officer is an honuorable one which does not set them apart from the society and communities they are going to serve adding that, the service will forever be regulated by many legal frameworks including the 1992 constitution , the Police Service Act (Act 350), Police Service Regulation 2012 (C.I 76), Service Instruction and many others.

He cautioned that, the police system will expose any service personnel if they allow personal feelings, animosity or friendship, and Political affiliation to influence their official conduct adding that, the Service abhors unprofessionalism.

“the Police Systems work like the money counting machine. It accepts, count and maintains you if you are only genuine money. However, if you are counterfeit, the system will reject you and cast you off. The system will reject you if you dare desiring for instant gratification” he warned.

He is certain that, within the six (6) months of their training, he has no doubt that the Recruits have been taught, coached and mentored with all that can make them efficient Police Officers which non can afford to deviate from.

Mr. Yeboah further seized the opportunity to caution the Youth not to allow themselves to be used as puppet to foment troubles as we are approaching the December elections.

He therefore pleaded with the various Political Parties to be on alert and know that, the preferred season for social misfit, bandits, hooligans and criminals to run to them has come, so that the politicians can offer them their political and party identity to enable them commit their usual violence in the name of politics.

He said the Police Service is ready to unmask and strip any mobster or fugitive off his/her political coloration and swiftly bring such individual to answer the very crime they have committed without fear and favor.
