An aspirant for the First Vice Chairperson position of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ho West Constituency, Gloria Fenu-Kofitse, has expressed appreciation to delegates and supporters following the party’s constituency executive elections, while urging members to unite behind the newly elected leadership.
In a statement issued after the polls held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, Mrs. Fenu-Kofitse said although she had aspired to serve as the constituency’s first vice chairperson, she fully accepted the outcome of the election and respected the decision of the delegates.
“In a democratic party, the voice of the delegates is the voice of the party, and I honour that choice wholeheartedly,” she stated.
She conveyed her gratitude to delegates, campaign supporters, friends and well-wishers for the confidence they reposed in her throughout the campaign.
According to her, the encouragement, prayers and unwavering support she received served as a source of inspiration and motivation during the contest.
Mrs Fenu-Kofitse also acknowledged individuals who championed greater female participation in political leadership, expressing the hope that her candidature would encourage more women to actively seek leadership positions within the party.
“Every journey has its season. This outcome is not the end of the journey; it is another step towards greater opportunities ahead,” she said.
The Ho West NPP stalwart congratulated all newly elected constituency executives, with special commendation to the newly elected first vice chairman, Samuel Debrah, whom she wished success in his new role.
Official results showed that Mr. Debrah secured 701 votes, while Mrs. Fenu-Kofitse obtained 406 votes.
She described the election as a victory for the New Patriotic Party’s democratic tradition, noting that delegates had freely exercised their constitutional right to elect leaders they believe are capable of advancing the party’s objectives.
“The true winner today is the NPP. That decision deserves our respect and our collective support,” she added.
Calling for reconciliation and unity, Mrs. Fenu-Kofitse urged party members to move beyond the contest and work together to strengthen the NPP in the Ho West Constituency ahead of future electoral contests.
She stressed that the party’s shared vision and collective interest should take precedence over individual ambitions as members prepare for the 2028 general elections.
Gloria Fenu-Kofitse has previously served the party as Polling Station Youth Organiser and Electoral Area Coordinator.
She is also a former national women organiser of the Ghana Association of Assembly Members and a two-term assembly member for the Ho West District Assembly, where she chaired the Assembly’s tourism committee.
