Three (3) persons have been confirmed dead in a clash between Nchumurus and Konkombas at Boare Ahenfie in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region.
Information gathered indicate that, there was a land dispute between Kokombas and the Boare people of which one Mr Joshua Odido has accused Nana Meebo II of trespassing.
In August 2021, Nana Meebo decided to work on the farm, but some group of people believed to be Konkombas came to threaten them (Boare Ahenfie people) never to step on the land.
The issue was later taken to court to be settled after which the court ruled and declared Nana Meebo the right owner of the land, but Mr Joshua Odido did not accept the ruling hence moved with the case to Hohoe for another judgement.
The case is currently pending at the Hohoe Court until last Saturday November 19 when Nana Meebo called on the residents for a communal labour to work on the same farm.
An eyewitness said some people believed to be from the Konkomba group allegedly fired gunshot among Nana Meebo II and his people when working on the land.
Mr. Kwame Seth, a resident who reported the incident for police assistance said, after the shooting, the youth of Kokomba went to the town and allegedly destroyed houses and other properties belonging to the Boare people.
Police have arrested 14 people in connection with the shooting and they are currently at the Kete-Krachi police assisting investigation.
