Some irate from Dzolo-Gbogame in the Ho West District in Volta Region on Wednesday 22ndJanuary 2020, stormed the Ho West District Assembly and set ablazed a Ford Explorer vehicle belonging to the Assembly.
The vehicle which was parked in front of the Assembly was burnt beyond recognition and other properties of the Assembly vandalized.
The District Chief Executive and all staff of the Assembly flee to nearby towns and the Police Station for safety.

The youth were reacting to the death of a native of the town who was knocked down by one of the Assemblies vehicles which was carrying the Assembly’s Task Force on the routine revenue collection exercise.
According to eyewitnesses, the team got to the victims shop around 11:00am to collect a tax of GHC25.00 which he owed the Assembly.
The victim, the late Wisdom Darkey who is believed to be in his late 20s, was said to have pleaded for more time be able to pay the debt but his plea was not taken and the Task for locked his shop.
Eye witnesses say the victims stood in front of the Task Force’s pleading for shop key to be handed over to him else he will not allow them to go and then climbed the bonnet of the pick-up
The team’s driver named Mr. John Agbley, allegedly threaten the victim that he will kill him if he blocks their way. Eventually the driver moved the car and knocked down the victim killing him.
The situation was later calmed by the Ho West District Police Command with re-enforcement from the regional police Headquarters .
Meanwhile the body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Ho Teaching Hospital Morgue.
