Assembly Member for Wusuta Kpebe electoral area in the North Dayi District of the Volta region, Hon. Derick Delali Adjei, has lamented over inaccessibility of potable water in his electoral area.

This he said, is affecting the livelihood of residents in his area

Mr. Adjei in an interaction with IGNEWSS Reporter said, residents in his electoral area are challenged with water crisis a situation which has forced them to share the Volta river, the only water source, with animals.

He observed that, the use of same water body with animals is unsafe for human consumption but they have no option.

He further stated that, the only health facility in the area has also been affected forcing health workers to walk several miles to nearby communities in search of water on daily basis.

Aside the water crises, he noted that, road network from Vakpo to his area is in a terrible condition and serving as a death trap to commuters who ply it.

Mr. Derick Delali Adjei has therefore appealed to government and other agencies to come to their aid to provide them with mechanized boreholes and rehabilitate the poor nature of the road to alleviate their predicament.

Not to wait for government intervention, the assembly member has organized members of the community through communal labour to help patch part of the deteriorating road.

He said this has been the only way available to ensure that, the worse does not happen to commuters using the road.

Interacting with some community members during a communal labour to fix some portions of the deplorable road, they appealed to the Member of Parliament (MP) and the District Chief Executive (DCE) to listen to their plight to help construct the road for them.
