The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Adaklu, Hon. Juliana Kpedekpo, has expressed her commitment to promoting honey production from Adaklu towns within her district for socio-economic development, not just for the Volta region or Ghana but also on a global scale.
She highlighted that the honey produced in Adaklu ranks among the best in Ghana and warrants significant promotion for the overall economic advancement of the predominantly farming population in her district.
The DCE stated her active involvement in promoting honey production, even within her office, making herself an advocate for the business.
“In my role, I consistently ensure that visitors are presented with Adaklu honey to experience its quality and, in turn, support marketing efforts to bolster the farmers involved in honey production,” she emphasized.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Volta Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Office in Ho, after a successful vetting by the National Parliamentary Vetting Committee, she disclosed plans to scale up production in response to increasing demand.
“Adaklu predominantly thrives on agriculture, particularly farmland. We aim to engage the youth in agriculture and support them with modern techniques to amplify their yields. Our focus is on methods that enhance production,” she elaborated.
Underlining agriculture and tourism as high-potential sectors, she expressed her commitment to attracting investors to the district.
“I am currently engaging potential investors who express interest in the Adaklu Mountain to boost tourism, ultimately contributing to increased revenue for the district,” she stated.

Madam Juliana Kpedekpo is one of six women vying for candidacy in their respective constituencies as parliamentary candidates.
The NPP scheduled vetting sessions from Tuesday, November 14 to Thursday, November 16, 2023, for all aspirants contesting in the party’s parliamentary primaries across all orphan constituencies.
The election is set for December 2, 2023, across these constituencies.
She faces competition from Bright Kwame Nyatsikor and Charles Mawunyo Aklaku.
