The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) in the Ho West district of the Volta region has inducted a total of sixteen (16) newly recruited youth under the YEA program as community health workers in the district.
The initiative is a collaborated effort by the YEA, the District Health Directorate and the Ho West district assembly.
The beneficiaries were on Monday October 31, 2022, engaged at a workshop organized by the stakeholders to orient and expose them to their job specification.
They were also taken through how to perform their duties and exhibition of good attitude towards work to enable them to live up to expectation during their temporal engagement.

The district directors of health and YEA assured the beneficiaries of good working relationship with them and their immediate supervisors that will enhance their cooperation with sound minds.
The Ho West District Chief Executive (DCE) Hon. Ernest Victor Apau noted that, the recruits have gone through the various stages of scrutiny including application submissions and attending interviews before their selection.
He also mentioned that more than five hundred (500) youth have applied out of which few were selected as qualified applicants for the job.
He added that about 50 other youth in the district have also been employed as youth in afforestation, youth in community policing whilst others are in various farming projects across the district.
Hon. Apau disclosed that even though response to duty is however encouraging among the beneficiaries, they have been cautioned to be more dedicated to work or lose their jobs.
The DCE further encouraged the beneficiaries to live up to expectations in their various places of work to ensure productivity.
Present at the ceremony were Madam Edith Ekpor – the District Health Director, Hon Victor Ernest Apau – Ho West District Chief Executive, Mr. wisdom Kwame Megbetorm-YEA District Director and the staff from the Youth Employment Agency (YEA).
