In order to familiarize themselves with the day-to-day activities at the offices, the Board and Management of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) have embarked on an official trip around the Volta and Oti regions.

The group visited the three regional offices on Monday: Ho, the regional capital; Akatsi in the Akatsi South District; Denu in the Ketu South; and Hohoe, where they were supposed to convene before proceeding to Oti.

According to the team, the one-day tour would enable the Board to gain insight into the challenges faced by staff at work and explore potential solutions as they interact with officers at various offices.

Mr. Prince Opoku Adu-Sei, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Operations at the DVLA, stated that the board periodically monitors all offices across the country to ensure that projects are progressing as planned and to assess the performance of the offices.

He expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Volta region and assured that issues and difficulties would be addressed, as they had been identified during visits to the different offices.

“We are pleased with what we have observed here so far; there is room for improvement, and we will endeavor to resolve some of the issues identified during our visit to the region,” said Mr. Adu-Sei Opoku.

As part of the initiative to establish offices in all sixteen regions, the Deputy CEO revealed that the team would also visit the Oti region to inspect land acquired for the construction of a regional office.

They are optimistic that the land acquisition process will be finalized once the procurement for the office complex is completed.

While expressing satisfaction with the DVLA’s services, the Board also acknowledged concerns raised by Mr. Robert Aklamanu Williams, the Volta regional manager, regarding underage riding among the Mahama Can Do Riders in Ho, citing it as a significant challenge for the agency.
