The Akatsi North District Assembly has taken its turn in the ongoing meet-the-press series
The conference dubbed “Meet-the-Press Series” came on at the District capital, Ave-Dakpa, where the District Chief Executive Dr. Prince Sodoke Amuzu recounted several projects set up by the assembly.
The assembly said it made progressive developments in education and other developmental projects in the district.
He said since 2017, the district assembly has made conscious efforts to promote education in the district by providing the requisite facilities needed for students.
“through the efforts of the district assembly, 27 school facilities have been constructed and other school projects are also slated for commencement in some towns and villages in the district” He noted
Dr. Amuzu also said the district assembly has constructed 10 health facilities in the district to enhance quality of health care delivery adding that the facilities come with apartments for the health workers.
He also highlighted on the improvement in the agricultural sector over the past three years.
According to him, through the Planting for Food and Jobs initiative set up by government, farmers have been given free sacks of fertilizer to boost farming activities in the district.
He added that the district has also made efforts to establish tomato and pineapple processing factories in the district which will help create jobs for the youths.
Dr. Amuzu said few roads have also been constructed in several communities in the district to boost economic activities.
He however commended some key contributors who supported in putting up the projects and urged them to be committed in developing the district.
