Hon. Ebenezer Doku has been officially confirmed as the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Adentan Municipal Assembly following a unanimous endorsement from assembly members on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
After the dismissal of the previous MCE in early February, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo nominated Hon. Ebenezer Doku to assume the role.
According to the assembly’s standing orders, assembly members were required to vote with a two-thirds majority in favor of the president’s nominee to confirm him as the new MCE.
However, Mr. Doku secured an overwhelming mandate, receiving the full support of all the assembly members.
Following his declaration, Hon. Doku took the oath of office and secrecy, administered by her ladyship, Nancy Adade, on behalf of the Chief Justice.
In his acceptance speech, the new Municipal Chief Executive expressed gratitude to President Akufo-Addo and the assembly members for their unwavering support.
He underscored the significance of collaboration and unity in the effort to build a better Adentan, pledging to implement an open forum policy and demonstrating a commitment to working tirelessly.
Mr. Doku, equipped with a Master’s in Business Administration (Corporate Governance), an Executive Certificate in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Marketing, brings a wealth of knowledge to the position.
His professional background includes roles as the Head of Marketing for Corporate & Consumer Clients at Petro Afrique Ltd, Business Development Coordination at Glico Life Insurance Ltd, and Senior Sales and Marketing Executive at the Stallion Group (Honda Place and Hyundai Motors).
Notably, he currently serves as the regional research and elections officer for the New Patriotic Party in Greater Accra.
Prior to his appointment as MCE, he served as the regional representative in the Ablekuma Central and Weija-Gbawe constituencies during the recent parliamentary primaries in the Greater Accra Region.
