The District Chief Executive of Ho West District (DCE) of the Volta region Hon. Victor Ernest Appau has hinted that the government of Ghana has awarded the Abutia – Juapong road to be constructed as part of the Eastern Corridor road project ongoing in the region.
According to Hon. Appau the assembly has received architects and engineers from Ghana Highway Authority about three weeks ago for their assessment for the commencement of the project.
“The good news is that the government has decided to do good to people of Abutia so we have come today to do Final reporting and your roads has been given under Eastern Corridor Road” DCE revealed.
The DCE revealed this while addressing students, teachers and parents of Abutia Norvisi D. A. Basic School’s at their first speech and prize giving day celebration on Tuesday September 12, 2023, at Abutia Kpolukorfe- a farming community in the Ho West District of the Volta region.
Mr. Appau assured the people that government has captured the project to be read in the budget hence their efforts to finish with all the technical details before the budget.
“We are not here to give you ordinary promises, the project is to be announce in budget that’s why we’re hurrying up to finish with the technical details.” Hon. Apau said.
He further disclosed that some other projects have been added in Abutia that covered health and education in the area.
He said that it included the rehabilitation of the Norvisi School with toilet facilities and other additional facilities and construction of a new health center with nurses bungalow for the people of Abutia Norvisi – Kpolukorfe.
Hon. Apau noted that the government has plans of establishing Food Processing Factory in the area that may be situated along the major roadside from Kpolukorfe and Abutia Teti which promises to bring more jobs to the youth in the area.
The DCE in company with the District Engineer, District Planing officer, District Information officer, Social welfare Officer, the District Agric Director and the District Physical planing officer said they have gone to inspect the 10 Acre land released for the construction of the new health center for the community.
He therefore charged the people in the area to debunk mischievous statements that the NPP government has neglected the area in terms of development and said government is rehabilitating the Dededo road and also has extended electricity to some other areas in the district.
