The Chief and residents of Gomoa Ojo in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region are calling for urgent intervention as a worsening water crisis continues to threaten their daily lives and livelihoods.
According to the Omankrado, Nana Akyin Boadu and Nana Kofi Dadzie, the Odikro of Gomoa Ojo, the acute shortage of water is disrupting economic activities within the community, particularly for women who depend on water for their small-scale businesses.
Speaking to the media, the traditional leaders and several residents expressed deep frustration over the persistent situation, describing it as a major challenge to their survival and well-being.
The community is therefore appealing to the government through the Gomoa East District Chief Executive (DCE), the Member of Parliament (MP), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and benevolent individuals to urgently support them with the construction of mechanised boreholes to help alleviate the crisis and restore normalcy to their lives.
