The Ashanti North Regional Police Command has launched an investigation into a viral video circulating on social media that allegedly shows misconduct involving a policewoman at Afrancho in the Akomadan District.
In a statement issued by the Public Affairs Unit of the Ashanti North Regional Police Command, the service said the officer featured in the video has been identified and investigations are underway to establish the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident, which reportedly occurred on July 3, 2026.
The police said appropriate disciplinary or administrative action would be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
“The police officer involved has been identified and investigation has commenced to establish the full facts and circumstances surrounding the incident,” the statement said.
The Command reiterated its commitment to professionalism, discipline and accountability, assuring the public that the matter would be handled in accordance with established procedures.
It also indicated that further updates would be provided as investigations progress.
