Some Chiefs and people of Guan district within the Oti region are appealing to the President of the republic and the Electoral Commission (EC) to, as a matter of urgency, consider creating a constituency to enable them to have a Member of Parliament (MP.

Speaking to Inside Ghana News Service, the Kyedomhene of Santrokofi Traditional Area, Nana Kofi Ollator IV said, the district is not developing since there is no representation from the area in parliament.

He noted that, the situation has made their voices not to be heard hence retarding development in the area.

They further on government and the electoral commission to consider them.

The Guan district comprising Santrokofi, Akpafu, Likpe and Lolobi (SALL) with its district capital at Likpe Mate has been without a constituency since its inauguration in 2021.

However, the people of Guan were asked to join Hohoe where they voted for the presidential candidate without voting for a Member of Parliament during the 2020 general election.

This, they said, is really affecting them as it is depriving them from benefiting from developments.
