Youth of Kpedze in the Ho West District of the Volta region has refuted claims made by the Ho West District Chief Executive (DCE) over the relocation of the supposed agenda 111 district hospital project from kpedze to Dzolo-Kpuita.
The youth have heavily descended to oppose the responses from the District Chief Executive, Hon. Ernest Victor Apau, saying he has cooked his own word to come and deliver to them as he is trying to deny them their share of the government developmental initiative.
At a meeting held after their demonstration few weeks ago to find a lasting solution to the development, the angry youth dressed in red attires amidst chanting, refused to listen to further clarification by the DCE at the gathering.
To them, the DCE’s message was just a mere discussion held in the assembly which does not come from any eminent person as he (the DCE) has stated in his message hence Kpedze community is not ready to contribute to the revenue generations in the district starting from June 16, 2022 until further notice.
The community, therefore, called on the district to relocate its dumping site from Kpedze with immediate effect since it is posing a health hazard to residents in the community.
The Youth later resolved to hold a meeting with the Chiefs on the issue and later head to the office of the President, Nana Addo Dankwah Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House in Accra for justification of the their agitations.
According to them, they want to seek clarification on the diversion of the agenda 111 hospital to another community despite promises made to them regarding the siting in Kpedze township
They also claimed that, the relocation is contrary to what the District have in it’s books regarding the fair distribution of developmental project in the district.
In an interview, Togbe Atsridom V, the paramount chief of Kpedze, told ignewss.com that, he and other sub Chiefs are readily rallying behind the enabling youth to meet the President over the development.
