Police in the Oyarifa District of the Greater Accra region have arrested a 40-year-old pastor in connection with a defilement case involving a 9-year-old girl.
The suspect, Pastor Paul Kofi Anana of Chosen Breed Gospel International Ministry, who is also a carpenter residing at Adenta Commando, was arrested on March 17, 2026, following a complaint lodged by the complainant.
Police source said, preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect, who is the stepfather of the victim, had been cohabiting with the complainant since 2023 and formally married her in February 2026.
“The victim is reported to have disclosed to her grandmother during a visit to Cape Coast that the suspect has subjected her to repeated sexual abuse over a period of about three years, including forcibly having sexual intercourse with her and engaging in other acts of sexual misconduct whenever the complainant was not at home”. The statement narrated.
Further investigation also revealed that the victim was threatened by the suspect to be killed if she informed anyone about the act.
However, the suspect is currently in Police custody assisting with investigations.
