Five dead bodies have been discovered by police after renewed violent attacks in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.
According to the police, the five (5) identified bodies of three (3) males and two (2) females have been recovered from two separate locations in the municipality by a joint team of the police, military, BNI, defense intelligence, and Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) personnel.
They said investigations are underway to ascertain circumstances surrounding the incident, identify the perpetrators, and bring them to justice.
However, the police called on residents in Nkwanta and its environs to remain calm and cooperate with security agencies by providing any relevant information that may assist with the ongoing investigations.
They further urge residents to desist from misinformation and acts that have the potential to flare up passions.
