Nana Abulati Buati Buaka III makes historical visit to Okadjakrom

Baglohene Nana Abulati Buati Buaka III, the Kwansrafohene for the Buem Traditional Area and the overlord of Banyangute has graced the final royal funeral celebration at Okadjakrom.

The event held in the Jasikan Municipality of the Oti Region offered a colourful and dignified send-off to the departed royal.

The Baglohene was accompanied by a delegation of royal dignitaries, including Nana Adom Katabua, Nana Kumessy Bonsi, Nana Nyamekye and Ofantis of Baglo, Odumase, and Kute.

The Asafo group also joined them in a procession from the Twafohene’s Palace to the funeral grounds.

The day of the event was remarkable as it rained for the first time in a long time, a symbolism and sign of blessings.

Significantly, the Municipal Chief Executive – Hon. Elizabeth Kessewaah Anim Adjornor, the Member of Parliament – Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams, and other crucial guests also graced the occasion.

The funeral was also marked by the confinement of a new chief, making it an all-round historic moment for the traditional area.

In appreciation, the Twafohene of the Buem Traditional Area, Osaberima Antwi Adjei IV, presented a ram as a gift to the Kwansrafohene of the Buem Traditional Area, Nana Abulati Buati Buaka III.

The gesture is an indication of the unity and respect that exists among traditional rulers in the area, which was manifested at the funeral.

In essence, the final royal funeral celebration at Okadjakrom was an impressive and unforgettable event.

It offered a moment of solemn reflection and a chance to pay tribute to a departed royal, all in the dignified setting of traditional rites and ceremonies.

The turnout of guests and the appreciation from the Twafohene of the Buem Traditional Area is proof of our cultural richness, diversity, and respect for traditions.
