A 13 member Board of Governors for the Kpeve Senior High Technical School in the South Dayi District of the Volta Region have been inaugurated to steer the academic and developmental affairs of the school for a three year term.
In an inaugural address, the Volta Regional Education Director, Enyonam Afi Amafuga lauded the school’s former board of governors for their commitment and dedication toward the development of the school, adding that they have initiated plans by lobbying for some necessary educational amenities from stakeholders.
Madam Amafuga observed that despite their numerous efforts during their tenure of office, there are many developmental projects to be initiated.
She therefore called upon the new board of governors to take up the task to push the school to higher heights in terms of development.
She noted with much concern the unavailability of adequate infrastructure in the school and called on the new board of governors to help fix the problem.
Madam Amafuga also highlighted on the school’s drop in academic performance in this year’s examinations and urged the new board of governors as well as the teachers to initiate measures toward attaining excellence in subsequent examinations.
The Queen mother of Kpeve traditional area, Mamaga Ama Serwa Dansua Lebi I reiterated the need for the school to ensuring academic excellence.
She charged the students to take their studies serious and desist from the practice of occultism and other social vices in the school.
The school’s headmistress, Matilda Dzotefe pledged her commitment to help the new board of governors to ensure that measures are put in place to see the swift improvement in administration of the school toward development.
