The 1995 batch of students from the Agortime Kpetoe Roman Catholic Junior High School have donating learning materials worth twelve thousand, four hundred Ghana cedis (Ghc12,400.00) to their Alma Mata to enhance teaching and learning activities in the school.
The batch gave out to the school about ninety-eight (98) textbooks that covers all eight (8) subjects designated by the Ghana Education Service (GES) curriculum to facilitate academic works in the school.
According to them the action has become very necessary to ameliorate some plights of the school which has made them who they in the society.
Mr. Stephen Dodzi Fianyo, the President of the batch, told IGNEWSS that the idea of extending support to the school was arrived at, as a decision to support their JHS after several deliberations considering the impact of the basic education.
“We have weighed the impact of basic school and decided to give that recognition because these days hardly before you see old students celebrating or even given arms to support their Junior High Schools or Primary schools. All we care about is Senior High Schools and Universities we attended” he explained
He recalled that even before the gesture the batch has also supported the school by provision of PPEs during the Covid 19 era together with several other donations.
He said, the batch also organized outreach and visitation activities to some aged who were food venders and other workers during their days in the school.
Mr. Fianyo also announced that the batch will also embark on steps to assisting the school with mower which the headmistress has requested from the batch and also construction of a fence wall to enhance and safeguard the school against theft and other anomalies.
Checks revealed that about eighty-five (85) students completed in 1995 batch of which Ten (10) deceased since the completion however, they have about 35 active members who are on a platform steering the affairs of the batch.
