Ho Central MP supports Nurses and Midwives Excellence Awards with Laptops

Member of Parliament (MP) for Ho Central, Hon. Benjamin Komla Kpodo has donated some portable computers to organisers of the Nurses and Midwives Excellence Awards Scheme, 2022 in the Volta region.

The three (3) Laptop Computers which cost GH¢9, 627.00 are to support the scheme award deserving and hardworking midwives and nurses in the Volta and Oti regions.

The donation, according to sources, formed part of the MP’s contribution to the excellent awards scheme initiated to reward hardworking nurses and midwives in the two regions.

Mr. Foster Stephen Osei presented the Laptops on behalf of the MP at the awards ceremony held at the Volta Regional Secretariat Guest House in Ho.

A speech delivered on behalf of the Mr. Kpodo appreciated the effort of the organizers of the event stating that, the intention to organize the awards was laudable since it goes a long way to recognize deserving and hardworking health service personnel in both regions.

“The intention is very laudable as it seeks to recognize and reward hardworking and dedicated health service delivery personnel in our Volta and Oti region. I congratulate the organizers”

He therefore urged all nurses and midwives to eschew laziness and imbibe a good attitude towards work wherever they find themselves.

“I am sure all nurses have diligently studied the work attributes of Florence Nightingale. I urge you all to imbibe that attitude towards your work anywhere you find yourselves – in the village, city” he said.

Hon. Benjamin Komla Kpodo also used the occasion to comgratulate the awardees and the Volta Regional Nurses and Midwives Council for organizing the program.

“I congratulate the awardees of today as well as the Volta Regional Nurses and Midwives Council for organizing the programme. “

In all, three (3) health personalities namely Mr. Kafui Kokroko from the Peki Government Hospital in the South Dayi District, Mr. Gustav Boni from the Adidome Government Hospital in the Central Tongu district and Madam Josephine Asuo from Sogakope District Hospital in the South Tongu were awarded by the organizers for the year.

The Volta/Oti chapter of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) awards is held annually with the aim of motivating nurses and midwives in both regions to work hard in their various health service deliveries.
