The Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) has launched the Volta regional chapter of the citizens coalition in Ho.
The June 20, 2023, event saw many Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), youth groups, members of the clergy and individuals in attendance.
Groups and organisations including Voice Ghana, Mc Garbins Youth Connect, Trade Union Congress (TUC), Ghana Federation of the Disabled, men and Women from the media among others were also present at the launch.
The Coalition which began last year July in Accra had earlier created chapters in the three (3) northern regions of the country.
According to the executive secretary of GACC, Mrs. Beauty Emefa Nerteh, noted that, the students arm of the Volta Regional chapter of the GACC will also be launched as part of the coalition’s plans to include the youth in its agenda,
She however urged citizens to rise up to the task of participating in the democratic processes in the nation by going beyond just voting and also hold government responsible for campaign promises made and how national resources are being used.
The GACC was formed to give voice to Ghanaian citizens have a say in the national democratic processes and also play their role in holding government accountable in its administrative and governance processes.
