The Chief Imam of the Islamic Mission Secretariat in Techiman, Shiek Yakubu Azaari, has urged Muslims across Ghana to remain devoted to the worship of Allah in order to receive divine blessings, peace, and prosperity.

He made the call during his sermon at the 2026 Eid-ul-Adha prayers held on Wednesday, 27 May 2026, in Techiman, the Bono East Regional capital.

Addressing the Muslim faithful, the respected Islamic cleric emphasised the spiritual importance of Eid-ul-Adha and encouraged Muslims to demonstrate complete obedience and submission to Allah.

According to Shiek Yakubu Azaari, the festival, widely known as the Festival of Sacrifice, teaches important values such as faith, humility, obedience, sacrifice, compassion, and love for humanity.

He noted that beyond the celebrations and festivities associated with Eid-ul-Adha, the occasion should also serve as a period of deep spiritual reflection and acts of generosity toward others.

The Chief Imam further appealed to wealthy individuals and Muslim communities to extend support to the poor, widows, orphans, and other vulnerable persons by sharing food, clothing, and other necessities during the celebration.

Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer of Akina Group of Companies, Alhaji Abubakar Donkor, popularly known as Soldierman, also advised the youth to celebrate the festival peacefully and responsibly.
