The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested two (2) suspects in connection with the death of a man and the shooting of his wife at Beach Drive Estate, Tuba, near Weija, on August 6, 2026.

The suspects have been identified as Adams Adder Almeida and his brother, Bala Bilyon.

Their arrests were made with assistance from the Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) as police investigations into the incident continue.

According to the Accra Regional Police Command, the Weija Police received information on August 6 that a man and his wife had sustained gunshot wounds at Beach Drive Estate and required police assistance.

A police team dispatched to the scene found Rahman Mohamed, 54, and his wife, Christiana Fosu, 53, with gunshot wounds outside their four-bedroom residence.

The couple was rushed to Finney Hospital, Weija, where Rahman Mohamed was pronounced dead on arrival.

His wife was subsequently referred to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, where she remains on admission receiving treatment.

The body of the deceased has been deposited at the police hospital mortuary pending an autopsy.

A police source said during interrogation, Adams Adder Almeida allegedly admitted to shooting the couple. According to the statement, he told investigators that he had been affected by what he perceived as repeated descriptions by the deceased of him as “lazy and useless”.

Further investigations led police to the room of Adams Adder Almeida at Beach Drive Estate, where a pistol believed to have been used in the shooting was allegedly recovered from beneath the wardrobe of his brother, Bala Bilyon.

Police said investigations established that the two brothers reside together in the same room at Tuba and that Bala Bilyon works with the deceased.

Adams Adder Almeida also allegedly told investigators that the pistol had been given to him by a friend identified as Gideon.

Police subsequently proceeded to Gideon’s residence at Tuba but did not find him at home. Efforts are ongoing to locate him to assist with investigations.

Meanwhile, Bala Bilyon has been arrested and is assisting the police with inquiries.

The Accra Regional Police Command said investigations are continuing to establish the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the roles, if any, of other persons connected to the incident.

However, police have urged the public to provide credible information that could assist investigators in locating the outstanding suspect and bringing the case to a conclusion.
