A press statement from the Ghana Police indicates that, the Inspector-General of Police Mr. Christian Tetteh-Yohuno has directed the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) to commence investigation into the case of assault on artist, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama at Tamale.
According to police source, “the PPSB investigation will be conducted alongside the criminal investigation currently ongoing by the Northern Regional Command”.
However, the stated denied claims of Special Operations Team’s (The Black Maria) involvement in the case adding that the team has been withdrawn from the region on March 5, 2026, weeks before the incident.
The statement assured the general public that, outcome of both investigations will be communicated in due course.
