The recruits were equipped with practical police duty, traffic management, community policing, criminal law, investigating procedures, human right and police ethics within the 13 days stay in the Police School.
At the ceremony, the Volta Regional Director of YEA Mr. Emmanuel Kwamena Quarshie, urged the CPAs to go out and become good ambassadors of the YEA and the Ghana Police Service.
He called on them to defend the reputation of the YEA and put their services at the disposal of the nation as they avail themselves for further training in line of duty by their superiors.
Congratulating the recruits, the regional director assured them of the Agency’s support to enable them to discharge their duties to the country as Community Police Assistants.
He further called on them to be guided by the virtue of discipline, hard work, dedication, patriotism and diligence.
The Regional Commander of the Ghana Police Service in the Volta region, DCOP Mr. Andrews Boadu Akumah, advised the personnel to exhibit good commitment to service and further respect and obey the commandments in the service to deliver a service to the delight of the nation.
On behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), DCOP Boadu Akumah promised that some of the recruits will be enrolled into the mainstream after their two-year stewardship.
The Volta Regional minister, Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa, who was confident with the training and skills they required to perform the community assignments, asked them to take instructions from their superiors.
Dr. Letsa also entreated the personnel to avoid carrying themselves as police officers in their various communities.
“You must be good ambassadors of the YEA which is a wonderful policy of the government of Ghana”. Dr. Letsa added.
He charged them to continue to improve themselves since the level now is just as a steppingstone to lift themselves to make it to the top.
The final batch of five thousand (5,000) personnel are expected to resume training in March 2023 across the six police training schools in the country.
