200, Benefit From Health Screening At Wudoaba

Residents of Wudoaba in the Ketu South Municipality have benefited from a free health screening exercise organized by Babanawo Courage, a health practitioner, as part of his corporate social responsibilities.

About two hundred beneficiaries have their blood sugar levels, blood pressure and HIV status checked and persons who have been diagnosed with conditions needing medical attention were referred to health facilities for treatment.

In an interview with Mr. Babanawo, he stated that there is the need to increase awareness on some health problems in human life and how it can be properly managed for the affected persons to live a normal and healthy life in the society.

He said many people in the Wudoaba are suffering from different health problems which need medical attention but due to financial hitches, they find it difficult to get medical care.

Mr. Babanawo also highlighted on the unavailability of a health centre in the community as a contributing factor for this problem of apathy among the citizens, adding that the CHPS compound in the area has not been completed.

He said this situation is a challenge to the people of Wudoaba since they lack the requite health care which should assist them in times of such needs.

He therefore called on government to provide a well resourced health facility for the people of Wudoaba.

Mr. Babanawo however lauded the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, Abla Dzifa Gomashie for her support towards the success of the health screening exercise.

Some beneficiaries extolled the free health screening initiative and urged the organizers to sustain the exercise yearly in the Wudoaba community till they are furnished with a health facility.
