The Member of Parliament (MP), Hon. Joseph Kwasi Mensah, and the District Chief Executive (DCE), Hon. Effah Patrick, in the Nkoranza North district of the Bono East Region, have jointly cut sod for the construction of a three-unit classroom block in two communities, Nipahiamoa (lower primary) and Domeabra (JHS).
The duo also cut sod for a Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound at Boana and Asekye.
The projects, according to them, are intended to improve local infrastructure and services.
The three-unit classroom block will provide a better learning environment for pupils in Nipahiamoa, whose school structures are highly dilapidated.
The CHPS compound, the DCE, Hon. Effah Patrick said, will enhance healthcare delivery for residents in both the Boana and Asekye communities.

Both projects are part of the government’s commitment to improving education and healthcare infrastructure in the district in response to local needs and campaign promises.
The groundbreaking
s took place on Sunday, 9th November 2025, where the MP and the DCE handed over the construction sites to the contractors to commence work on the ambitious infrastructure projects, funded by the Assembly’s Common Fund.
The project is expected to be completed in eight months.
At Nipahiamoa and Domeabra, the three-unit classroom blocks will be completed with stores, offices, dressing rooms, and water closet toilet facilities.
The DCE emphasized to Fabea FM with Apiah-Kubi that the comprehensive nature of the projects in the district will significantly augment both the lower primary and JHS educational capacity.
Regarding healthcare, Hon. Effah Patrick added that the CHPS facilities will include nurses’ accommodations and will be equipped with all necessary facilities and equipment required for effective healthcare service delivery.
Both Boana and Asekye CHPS compounds are conversions of unused gari factories in the two communities.
“We have given the contractors eight months to complete the projects,” Hon. Effah Patrick stated.
Residents expressed gratitude to the MP and the DCE for the kind gestures.
Background.
● The Boana, Asekye and adjoining communities, over the years, have lacked several basic social amenities.
● For health care service, residents in and around these communities relied on an abandoned gari factory structure for healthcare delivery.
● Classroom structures of schools in these communities are dilapidated, a situation that affects teaching and learning in the schools.
