The Techiman Area Chairman of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Mr. Samuel Agyei, has urged teachers to remain calm as the leadership of the three (3) teacher unions engages the government over concerns that have led to the ongoing strike.
Mr. Agyei said the union leadership would continue discussions with the government and the Minister of Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, in an effort to find a lasting solution to the issues raised by teachers.
He called on teachers to remain united and allow their national leadership to continue the negotiations, assuring members that their concerns were being pursued.
His comments follow the decision by three teacher unions to declare a strike over unresolved concerns with the government.
Mr. Agyei urged teachers to exercise restraint while the engagements continue, stressing the importance of dialogue in resolving the issues affecting the education sector.
He said the union leadership remained committed to securing a resolution that addresses the concerns of teachers and enables academic activities to resume smoothly.
