V/R: We will reconstruct Tsito-Anyirawase, Accra-Ho road culvert in one month- Highway Director

The Volta Regional Director of Ghana Highway Authority, Mr. Aminu Isaka Abubakar has said that his outfit will use one calendar month to reconstruct the structurally defective culvert between Tsito-Anyirawase on the Accra-Ho main road.

Mr. Abubakar said all factors to making sure there is a smooth progress of work are all considered in the one month period.

He justified the alternative route provided by the Authority for motorists plying the Tsito-Anyirawase section of the Accra-Ho Highway as a result of structural defects on the culvert between Tsito-Anyirawase.

Speaking on Ho Fm’s Adanu Morning Show, he said that “the alternative route though is an addition of extra kilometers, is the best means to solving the problem as his outfit will commence work on the culvert starting from Tuesday, September 19, 2023, and will finish it within one calendar month period”.

He was optimistic the work will be done within one calendar month assuring the general public to bear with them during the reconstruction for the good of all.

The Volta Regional Co-ordinating Council (VRCC) in a press release on Monday, September 18, 2023, signed by the Chief Director Mr. Augustus Awity, has given a notice to the general public particularly, motorists plying the Tsito and Anyirawase section of the Accra-Ho Highway that the road will be closed at the section of the road between Tsito-Anyirawase due to structural defects on the culverts between the townships as a result of a heavy rainfall.

It said “the state of the culvert poses danger to motorists and has become necessary to close the section of the road to safeguard lives and properties, and given the inaccessibility of the Tsito-Anyirawase section of the Accra-Ho Highway, the Ghana Highway Authority has arranged an alternative route as follows; from Dededo/Asikuma Junction to Ho motorists are to take a right turn on the Juapong-Abutia-Sokode Road through to meet the Sokode roundabout to Ho.

A Personnel of the Ghana Police Service will be available to assist with directions.

The letter entreats motorists to take note of the development and use the alternative route
provided.
