A section of parents is calling on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to listen to the call by the three (3) teacher unions as they embark on a nationwide strike.
The strike has caused many parents to lament about the negative effects this will have on them.
Speaking to Inside Ghana News Service (IGNEWSS), Madam Sylvia Sebuabe believed that, refusing to listen to the appeal of the teachers not to engage Dr. Eric Nkansah as the director general of the Ghana education service will put them under a serious trauma.
According to her, the government must allow the unions to choose who is fit to help the educational sector but not to impose the person on them.
The calls by the parents follow the president’s decision to engage Dr Eric Nkansah as the Director General (DG) for the Ghana Education Service (GES).
Mr Daniel, a father, who also lamented about the situation said, this will negativity affect their children and will worry them as parents because, they would have to stay home to take care of their children whiles they should be at work.
Some teachers also feared the strike may not end early hence will affect students.
They are therefore calling on the government to listen to their leadership and never to consider Dr Eric Nkansah as the director general for the Ghana education service.
