Refund monies paid for recruitment scratch cards after disqualification – Sir DY writes

I saw the publication in the page 19, 20 and 21 of Saturday, May 14, 2022 edition of the GHANAIAN Times Newspaper regarding enlistment into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and I asked myself if this is another money making venture?

Some months ago, we all saw the stress the ordinary Ghanaian youth went through to be enlisted into either the Ghana Police Service, Ghana National Fire Service, Ghana Immigration Service etc.

I can count many people I personally know with the required requisite qualification who applied and could not make it. I mean none of them made it and I wondered who actually made it then?

Authorities should be fair to the youth. They should tell Ghanaians they want to make money rather than publishing this to cause the youth another inconvenience (wahala) under this economic hardship situation we are currently.

I don’t want to delve into issues of protocol because this might take a whole book and chapters to digest.

A time will come that they will beg citizens to join these services but only few will. The interest to serve this country is waning among the youth.

GAF should refund all monies taken from these youth after they have been disqualified.

Patriotism is being swept under the carpet. WHO SHOULD WE BLAME?
