Journalists urged to prioritize sustainability of their media organisations

The Executive Director of Beyond group of companies in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti region, Rev. Dr. Sylvester Kwame Nkrumah has urged all journalists especially the upcoming ones to have patience and think about the sustainability of the media house they find themselves for a better living.

Speaking during the company’s 10 years anniversary, Rev Dr Nkrumah who is also the Director of Ghana Institute of Linguistic Bible Translation (GILBT) and Beyond FM said, it took the sacrifice of selfless individuals for the radio station to get to its current level.

He underscored many came and left because their demands were not met but few stood up and worked hard for the success of the institution.

He lamented on the living conditions of most media personnel and attributed the situation to lack of proper organisation.

“Living conditions of most media personnel are nothing good to write home about but if the media houses are well organized, employers will also treat their workers well with good salaries”.

He however congratulated the staff of Beyond FM for their immerse contribution towards the development of the radio station and the area at large.

He urged them to continue with their good works adding that, he will make sure, as the director of the organisation that all the necessary tools needed for the work are provided.

He further thanked residents of Nkwanta South who also helped him in one way or the other for making his dream a reality.

He noted that, their contributions have made Beyond FM the second radio station in Oti region which has touched the lives of many in the municipality and beyond.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Beyond group of companies, Mr Bright Owusu Nyasemhwe also thanked all the staff for their tolerance in discharging their duties.

He observed that, upon the criticism and attacks from various political groups and other individuals, they stood to discharge their duties with diligence.

On his side,the General Manager of Beyond FM, Mr Kwabena Ntow also promised to do his best to take the station to a well deserving level by putting in more efforts and maturity in the work.

Long serving staff who have served the company for the past ten years were awarded for their patience and contribution to the success of the station at the dinner night.
