Dr. Robert Doh has revealed that, his foundation will support top scorers from five (5) basic schools in the just ended 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region.
The Philanthropist, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cidarvill Hospital at Hohoe and the founder of Dr. Robert Doh foundation revealed this in an exclusive interview to Kingsley Attitsogbui, on Friday, August 11, 2023 on the sideline of a recent tour he embarked on August 3, 2023 to some schools in the municipality prior to the commencement of the 2023 BECE.
Dr. Doh, on the tour, he interacted with the pupils and encouraged them to learn hard to become great men and women of substance to their families, communities and Ghana as a whole.
The schools are Akrofu Xeviwofe JHS, Akrofu Agorve JHS, Ho Heve EP JHS, Ho Dome EP JHS and Ho Kpodzi A JHS all in the Ho Municipality.
The gesture is meant to challenge the candidates to give off their best in climbing the academic ladder.
He explained that, he recounted how difficult it was for him and some other colleagues some years back when they were sitting for the BECE exams.
He noted that, some colleagues could not get the needed examination writing materials like Pencils, Pens rulers among others.
” It’s because of some of these challenges during examination that was why I formed the foundation to support humanity. It forms part of my overall vision of making Ho central constituency a shining star among its peers in the country”. He further explained.
He charged the students to strive hard for the best results and promised whoever gets aggregate six (6) to ten (10) will benefit more financial support in their Senior High Schools from him.
“I announced a cash prize of Ghc500.00 to be given to the best performed candidate from each school when results of the examination are released. Candidates that will get from aggregate 6-10 will earn the support” he stated.
The organization according to its founder, Dr. Robert Doh, will present cash prize of Ghc500.00 to each top scorers towards their second cycle education including other learning materials.
He presented Pencil, Pen, Ruler and Eraser to each of the over 200 candidates from these schools.
At Ho Heve EP JHS, he presented an undisclosed amount of cash prize to the school for emerging as winners of the circuit’s quiz competition.
